Obituary for William English Cox

Mr. William English “B”, 84, of Lumberton, NC lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. He passed peacefully at home.

Mr. Bill Cox was born in Robeson County, NC on November 14, 1936, to the late William and Rachel Johnson Cox. He was married to the former Violet Horne, who preceded him in death.

Bill proudly served in the US Air Force. He worked many different jobs during his lifetime, some of which were TV repairman, postal clerk, Sheriff’s Deputy, and construction.

He was preceded in death by two brothers; Dallas Cox and Earl Cox; and a sister, Jean Cox Ormsby.

Surviving are a daughter; Bonnie Cox Nye (Jeff) and a son, Ricky Cox (Brenda), both of Lumberton; five grandchildren, William Barnes (Sharon), Curtis Barnes (Demarie), Amber M. Nye, Kristy A. Miller (Mitch) and Stanley Rogers; four great grandchildren, Adrien Nieves, Braedyn Barnes, Maximus Barnes and Jack Dalton; a sister, Glenda Lane of Pinnacle, NC and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Lake View Perpetual Cemetery in Lake View SC.
