Vivian King Davis
Vivian King Davis, 69, died December 6, 2025. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away surrounded by love after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on January 1, 1956, and spent her life pouring herself into the people she loved most.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Lake View. Burial will follow at Kemper Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Monday, December 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at First Baptist Church.
Vivian was born in Lake City, SC and raised in Dillon, SC. She married John L. Davis and moved to Lake View, SC. Vivian and John L. would have been married 49 years in February. She was the heart of her home and the very best kind of friend and wife to her husband, John L. Davis. They have shared a love that is unwavering, unconditional, and forever.
Vivian was also a proud and deeply devoted mother to her two children: Dr. Johnathan Davis and Amy D. Cook, DSW(c). Her favorite job was being a mother and she was the best Mom and Mema to her children and grandchildren.
In her early years, Vivian worked in the medical field, where her natural compassion and desire to care for others shinned. Later, she dedicated herself to helping her husband run their trucking business, working faithfully by his side. After retiring, she joyfully turned her focus to helping raise her grandchildren; one of the roles she treasured most.
Vivian loved the Lord and in her last years, her husband John L. read the Bible to her every morning. They were long time members of First Baptist Church of Lake View, SC.
Vivian’s favorite thing in life was simple and beautiful: being with her family. She found her greatest joy in time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, and family friends. She also loved her special place at “The Beach House,” where peace, laughter, and family memories were created. She loved to fish, ride horses, and ride motorcycles with John L. Vivian had a sweet and kind soul who gave everything she had to take care of others. She lived with love and strength that made everyone around her feel loved.
Vivian is survived by her loving husband and best friend, John L. Davis; her children, Dr. Johnathan Davis and Amy D. Cook (Matt Cook); her sister-in-law, Rachel Gorbea; her brother-in-law, Billy W. Davis (Lesette); and her seven grandchildren: Tyler Davis, Trey Davis, Kaylee Spivey, Nicholas Cook (Spivey), Sawyer Cook, Lindsey Spivey, and Wesley Spivey. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Vivian was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah G. King; her father, Charles G. King; her sister, Sarah Parrott, and many other family and friends.
