Sara Humphrey Johnson

It is with heavy hearts that the family shares the news of the passing on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 of Sara Humphrey Johnson life- long resident of Lake View, SC.

Family will receive visitors at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 3, 2026 at the Piney Grove Baptist Church in Lake View, SC. Immediately after, at 2:00 pm, Pastor Jason Paris will conduct Sara’s Home-Going Service. Interment will follow in the Lake View Cemetery.

Sara is survived by her husband Reverend Sam Johnson, son Glenn Humphrey (Sharon), daughter Sandra Ross (Jack), grandsons Mason Ross, Jason Ross, Brock Ross (Tiffany), and great grandsons, Kaiden, Colton, Levi, and great granddaughter Allie.

Sara spent her working life as a seamstress and a teacher at the Dillon County Vocational School, but her heart was in taking care of her family and serving the Lord through her many positions that she held at Hayestown PH Church. She loved the Lord with all her heart and that was evident in the way she lived her life caring for others and spreading the gospel.

Upon retiring, her and her first husband Marvin spent many hours working at the Ocean View Baptist Church, where they became a part of an additional church family. Whether it was ministering by cooking and serving food for special events or working back-stage during the many pageants and Christian plays that the church presented, Sara used her exceptional talents in cooking and sewing to make each event the best that it could be.

Sara is preceded in death by her first husband Marvin Humphrey, Father Thomas Brewer, Mother Radie Mae Brewer, Brother James Brewer (Morie Grace),

Sister, Ruth Mae Brewer, Grand Daughter Jenny Conner, and Grandson Jack Ford Ross II,
