Ralph Ray

Ralph Ray, a devoted family man and faithful member of his community, passed away on March 22, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina, surrounded by his loving family.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Rohobeth Community Church of Galivants Ferry. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. at the cemetery prior to the service.

Ralph spent much of his life dedicated to his church in Cerro Gordo, where he found great purpose and joy in serving others and strengthening his faith. His commitment to his church family was a true reflection of the kindness and compassion he carried in his heart.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found fishing, one of his favorite pastimes. Ralph was also a hardworking farmer who took great pride in the land he tended. More importantly, he cherished the time he spent teaching his children and grandchildren the value of farming, passing down not only skills but lessons of patience, dedication, and respect for the land.

Ralph was also known as a collector, finding joy in gathering and preserving items that held meaning to him. His collections reflected his appreciation for history, craftsmanship, and the simple things in life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Zander Ray; his mother, Sally Ray; his brother, W.P. Ray; his baby sister; and his son, Kenny Ray.

Left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Jimmy Ray, Danny Ray (Kim Ray), and David Ray; and his daughter, Kathy Ray Martin (Ronald Martin). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly.

Above all, Ralph will be remembered for his love of family, his strong faith, and the wisdom he shared with those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on through the lives he touched.
