Myra Louise Spivey

Mrs. Myra Louise Spivey died Thursday, March 14, 2024, at McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee, after an illness.

A funeral service will be Sunday, March 17 at 2:00 pm at Kemper Baptist Church of Lake View, with burial to follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 16 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Cooke Funeral Home of Lake View.

Mrs. Spivey was born in Wilmington NC, the daughter of the late Earl and Ola Jane Tyner McMillan. She was a dedicated member of Kemper Baptist Church for many years until her health declined. She loved her church, where she kept the nursery and was a member of the Senior Ladies’ Group. She loved flowers and spent a lot of her spare time tending to them in her yard where she could watch them grow and bloom.

She is survived by her sons, Kenny Spivey (Phyllis), Tommy Spivey (Tonya) and Rodney Spivey; daughter, Kathy Williamson; brothers, Almon McMillan and Warren Tyner; sisters, Sue Tyner and Tina Tyner; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; special friends, Teresa Glasglow and Christinia Spivey; and her beloved pets, Angel and Jack.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Spivey, and a sister-in-law, Virginia Williamson.
