Michael Francis Gandley
Michael Francis Gandley passed away on Saturday, November 5th at his home in Lake View, South Carolina after a courageous battle with cancer. He fought hard for his life while trusting his Lord and Savior throughout his illness.
He was born in Geneva, New York on April 8, 1944 to Joseph and Patricia Gandley. Mike excelled in sports at Montpelier High School in Vermont; Brewster Academy in Brewster, Maine; and Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont. After attaining a Masters Degree from the University of South Carolina, Mike taught school, worked in sales, and eventually went on to manage his own company.
Mike was an avid lover of a good game of cards and had a true passion for golf which he enjoyed until the end of his time on earth.
Mike is survived by his wife, Gayle Gandley, his step children Tron Page (Kim) of Florence, SC; Megan Poland (Matt) of Laurel Hill, Florida and James Page (Meredith) of Lake View, SC. He is also survived by his sisters, Patricia Gray (Max) of Calais, Vermont and Judith Shailor (Thomas) of Indian Lake, SC. Mike was a true blessing to all that he came into contact with, and his quick wit, infectious smile, genuine faith, and concern for others will be missed by all, including his nieces and nephews, step grandchildren, and cherished friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 12 at First Baptist Church in Lake View, SC at 1:00 pm. The family will receive family and friends from 11:00 - 1:00 at First Baptist Church prior to the service.
