Lucinda “Cindy” Alford, age 61, unexpectedly passed away at the MUSC Health Medical Center on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Born on June 25, 1963, in Marion County, SC, she was the youngest daughter of the late H.B. Alford and Georgia Alford Johnson. In addition to her parents,
Cindy was the very picture of a loving mother. Her willingness to help and go the extra mile for her family and friends was unwavering. She loved her crocheting, enjoyed hunting, and above all, her love for her boys was without end. While she was not fond of being in pictures, our memories of her will be cherished forever. She was a good and kind friend to the many who knew her.
Cindy is survived by her sons, Kelly (Sophia) Brewer and Sam Brewer; her granddaughter Audrey Weber; her brother George (Anna) Alford; nieces and nephews Michael (Judy) Cook, Cody (Tina) Cook, Kayla Cook, Coleman Cook, Alex Alford, Candace Alford; Aunt Francine Byrd; many loved cousins and other family members.
Cindy was predeceased by her sister, Sheila Alford Cook, and maternal aunt, Nellie Kate Adkins.
Visitation will be held at Cooke Funeral Home in Lake View, SC, on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. A private graveside service will be held at a later time.
