Linda Sanderson

Mrs. Linda Smith Sanderson went to be with our Lord August 18, 2021 after an illness. Born September 4, 1946, she was the daughter of Robert J. and Mary Frances Barfield Smith of Lake View. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, William E. (Billy) Sanderson of the home, sons Jeff Sanderson (Kelly) of Greer, S.C., David Sanderson (Amy) of Anderson, S.C., and six grandchildren. Katy Sanderson of Knoxville, Tennessee, Will Sanderson of Knoxville, Anna Blaine Sanderson of Anderson, SC Mary Shelley Sanderson of Anderson, Holden Sanderson of Greer and Hadley Sanderson of Greer. She has a surviving sister Ann S. Spivey of Lake View, Danny K. Smith (Sharon) of Irmo, Fonnie Smith (Amanda) of Fairmont and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Peggy Smith Canady, and brothers Larry J. Smith and Robert Temple Smith.

Linda spent twenty nine years at First Citizens Bank and ten years in the Dillon County School System Administration. She was a member of Lake View First Baptist Church where she served as choir member.

A funeral service will be Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lake View. A private entombment for the immediate family will follow at Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday at 1:30 at the church prior to the funeral service.

Linda was most thankful for her sister Ann and numerous others who lovingly provided her care as well as a lifelong friend Lynne Johnson. The Presbyterian Nursing Home and the Agape Hospice staff were very much appreciated. Many of her caregivers were wonderful and collectively, they made it possible for her to remain at home for several years. Linda was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who loved our Lord and was deeply devoted to her family
