Elizabeth Evans Lupo

Elizabeth Evans Lupo, age 92, went to be with the Lord, Sunday March 2, 2025.

A funeral service will be Wednesday, March 5 at 3:00 p.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church, with burial to follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church at 2:00, one hour prior to the funeral service.

She was born in Robeson County on April 27, 1932, to the late Montgomery and Mary Ivey Evans. She was affectionately known as “granny” to all those that new her. She worked for many years in the textile industry and food service until May 2024.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Lupo; her parents; three brothers, Paul Evans, Hal Evans, Montgomery Evans, Jr.; six sisters, Gladys Ford, Louise Sealey, Edna “Teenie” Earl Loper, Grace Rogers, Lyzett Strickland (Claude) and Bobby Jean Evans.

She is survived by special nephew, Jimmy (Elaine) Evans; great niece, Julie (Richard) Floyd; great-great nephews, Mason and Lance Floyd. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and friend Vera Ellen Floyd.

The family would like to say a special thank you to those that helped during her illness.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Piney Grove Baptist Church.
