Julia Garris Pittman, 42, of Lake View, South Carolina, passed away on September 4, 2023 at McLeod Hospital after an extended illness.

Julia was born on March 5, 1981 to Stan and Virginia Garris in Greenville, South Carolina. She grew up in Lake View where she was involved in numerous activities and organizations, her special project being The LVES/LVHS Color Run. She served many students as the school nurse for almost twenty years.

Julia loved making memories and going on adventures with her husband and two sons who she loved dearly. She is known for hosting many get-togethers and holidays for family and friends as often as possible. Julia loved spending time by the pool and the beach with friends that she deeply cherished.

Throughout her illness, Julia’s faith remained anchored in her Lord, Jesus Christ. In spite of her illness, she lived her life to the fullest every minute of every day. She was a living testimony to everyone who knew her.

Julia was predeceased by her father, Stan Garris, paternal grandparents, Robert and Inez Garris, maternal grandparents, Raymond and Catherine Cook. Julia is survived by her husband Bryan Pittman, two sons, Jackson and Rivers Pittman, mother, Virginia Garris, brother Kevin [Tara] Garris, nephew Matthew Garris, niece Laney Garris and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whom she loved greatly.

The family will receive friends at Cooke Funeral Home in Lake View from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 7, 2023. A graveside service will be held at Bear Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery in Lake View at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 8, 2023.
