Johnny L. Gaddy

Mr. Johnny L. Gaddy died Thursday, October 9, 2025, at McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee.

A funeral service will be Sunday, October 12 at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Lake View, with the burial to follow at Lake View Perpetual Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 2:00 pm, at the church, prior to the funeral service.

Born in August of 1941, in Mullins, SC, Johnny was the son of the late Jesse Leon and Eunice Gaddy. He attended Lake View High School, where he was voted “wittiest” and “best dancer” reflecting his fun-loving personality. While there he met and later married his high school sweetheart Glenda.

After graduating from Wake Forest University, Johnny went on to own and operate Auto Service Station and Lake View Auto Parts. Later he moved into real estate sales at Ocean Isle Beach, NC. He had many wonderful years working at Williamson Realty, making new friends along the way.

Johnny was an active member and deacon at the First Baptist Church of Lake View. He served as president of the Lake View Lions Club and was “tail twister” for many years.

Johnny loved sports, especially golf, basketball and football. He played football in high school, later becoming a high school football referee. He especially enjoyed attending Wake Forest basketball and football games, many with his lifelong friend Hal Townsend.

Johnny is survived by his wife Glenda S. Gaddy, and son J. Mark Gaddy (Karen). In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Valerie.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Ingram Health Care Center at The Manor in Florence.
