William Roshell “Joe” Bailey

Mr. Joe Bailey (79) died Monday, December 2, 2024, at McLeod Medical Center of Dillon, after an illness.

A graveside funeral service will be Thursday, December 5 at 1:00 p.m. at Hayestown Cemetery of Lake View. The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the funeral service.

Mr. Bailey was born in Robeson County, the son of the late Rufus Lester and Rometer Miller Bailey. He worked as a boilermaker for many years before retiring, as well as performing welding and repair jobs for many farmers in the community.

He is survived by his sons, Joseph “Joey” Bailey (Robin) of Ding Dong, TX, Shane Bailey (Alice) of San Jose, CA and Crystal Swearingen (Brent) of Lenoir City, TN; 3 sisters, Marie Grainger, Betty Arnette and Mattie Bailey; Grandkids, Brandi, Adam, Shelby, Jordan, Austin, Trenton, and Skylar; 5 great grandkids and a host of nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Bailey.
