James Milford Meares

Mr. James Milford Meares, 81, died Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital after an illness.

A graveside service will be Saturday December 12 at 1:00 p.m. at Meares Family Cemetery in Nichols SC. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., December 12 at Cooke Funeral Home of Lake View, prior to the funeral service.

Mr. Meares was born Sept. 29, 1941 in Nichols SC, the son of the late J.F. and Eunice Grantham Meares. He worked for many years as a Heavy Equipment Operator in road construction

He is survived by his sons, James W. Meares (Jamie) and Jeffrey Meares (Donna); daughter Connie M. Blair (Ray); and grandchildren, Patrick, Jodi, Loral-len, Ashley, Morgan, Alan, Hunter, Bryce, McKinley, Ayden, Kaylen and Khloe; great grandchildren, Bradley, Henley, Owen, and Talon; sister, Mary Ellen Cook (Homer).
