James Kenneth Lupo

March 26, 1982 — April 20, 2026

Florence SC

Mr. James Kenneth Lupo, 44, of Florence, SC, went to be with his Lord Jesus on Monday, April 20, 2026, after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and close friends and peacefully passed from this life to the next.

Kenneth was born on March 26, 1982, to parents Paul and Carolyn Lupo and big brother John Paul Lupo. He grew up as a typical country boy, loving sports and all things outdoors with a group of friends who became lifelong. Kenneth graduated from Lake View High School in 2000, and in 2004 achieved a Bachelor of Science Degree from Clemson University in Agricultural Mechanization.

Kenneth married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Farris Chassidy Hardwick on October 2, 2010. They welcomed their first son, Kenneth Baze Lupo on October 28, 2013, and their second son, Jameson Kash Lupo on January 23, 2019.

Kenneth’s career in the construction industry started in Lexington, SC and eventually led him back to the Pee Dee where he and Farris settled in Florence to raise their family. He worked as Chief Operating Officer for L & B Developers, a family-owned business, and his coworkers quickly became close family friends.

Kenneth had an infectious grin, easy-going demeaner and a true southern draw that made anyone who met him smile. He had a heart of gold, never met a stranger, and was always the first to lend a helping hand. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved the Clemson Tigers, and always had a project to tinker on. He loved being a father and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He grew up going to Piney Grove Baptist Church, but became a member of the Florence Baptist Temple in 2020.

Kenneth was survived by his loving wife Farris and their sons, Baze and Kash of Florence; his parents, Paul and Carolyn Lupo; his brother, John Paul Lupo of Lake View; his father-in-law, Jamie Johnson of Florence; his mother and brother in law, Wanda and Dack Hardwick of Dillon; special friends, Jake and Casie Mims of Darlington; best friend, Bryan Knight of Coward; and sweet chocolate lab named Rocket.

The family would sincerely like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers through this difficult cancer journey, and to the medical professionals who gave it their all and never gave up hope.

Funeral services will he held on Saturday, April 25, 2025, at the Florence Baptist Temple. A visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive guests immediately following the service for a Celebration of Life at the home of his father-in-law, Jamie Johnson, 1868 Houndsfield Drive, Florence. A burial will be held for close family and friends at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Lake View at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kenneth’s memory to Pee Dee Land Trust at 448 West Cheves Street, Florence SC 29501. Let us honor his legacy by supporting one another and continuing the work he cared so deeply about.
