Helen Ruth Leaphart

Helen Ruth Leaphart passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, at the age of 80, at her home in Lake View, SC. She was born on October 20, 1944, to the late Jasper and Annie Taylor.

A funeral service will be on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 11:00am, at First Baptist Church in Lake View. Burial will follow at Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Leaphart home in Lake View after the funeral service.

She was a resident of Lake View, SC and graduated from Lumberton High School. She created a lifelong career in Medical Administration, where she worked for various doctors in the area, finishing her tenure with Dr. Gangi.

Helen lived a life overflowing with warmth, creativity, and adventure. Her greatest passion was her family, and she took immeasurable joy in her roles as a devoted wife, mother, and a proud, doting grandmother. She created a home filled with laughter and love. Helen's hands were rarely still, as she was a master of crochet that brought her so much comfort as she made items that her family cherished. Helen loved to travel and was always eager to discover new places, creating lasting memories with those she loved.

She is survived by her sons, Wesley Skipper (Julie) and Darrin Leaphart; Daughter, Aimee Sanderson (Timmy); Grandchildren, Taylor Brown (Robbie), Matthew Skipper (Ashley), Madison Coker, Morgan Skipper, Kayla Leonard (Shaquille), Stormy Skipper, Brian Leaphart, Austin Skipper, Carson Strickland (Cameron); Great-grandchildren, Mack, Peyton, Dakota, Addie, Axel, Mia, Kenzie, Harper, Laila, Kiley, Lani, Maverick, Deuce, and Ryder; Brother, Paul Taylor (Sylvia).

Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Shelton Roscoe Leaphart, Jr. and son, Chuck Skipper.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and/or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family sincerely appreciates the love, support, and prayers shown to them during this time.
