Mrs. Evolene Stroud (88) died Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at MUSC Health Florence after an illness.

A funeral service will be Thursday, February 15th at 2:00 p.m. at Bear Swamp Baptist Church of Lake View. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the church, prior to the funeral service.

Mrs. Evolene was born in Lake View, the daughter of the late Edgar and Maybelle Page Hayes. She was a member of Bear Swamp Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Debra Rose Cain of the home, and Nancy Carol Lucas (Ben) of Dillon; grandchildren, Billy Cain (April) of Sumter, Jessica Bailey of Dillon, Amanda Bailey (Jason) of Dillon and Tony Lucas (Nikki) of Dillon; and great grandchildren, Presley McNeil, Bayleigh Lucas, Millie Lucas, Hayden Lucas, Bentley Lucas, and Nicholas Lucas, all of Dillon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, OD Stroud; brothers, JB, Emerson, Edward, Cleburn, and Layton; and sisters, Essie Mae, Mayola and Lillian.
