Mr. Donnie Ray Owens died Monday, November 28, 2022 at McLeod Medical Center of Dillon, after an illness.

A funeral service will be Thursday, December 1 at 10:00 at Cooke Funeral Home of Lake View. The family will receive friends at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service. The Committal will be at Florence National Cemetery at 2:00 pm on Thursday.

He was born November 9, 1948 in Bennettsville SC, the son of the late James Franklin Owens and Irene Brigman Crowley. He graduated from Berkeley High School in Monks Corner. He served in the US Air Force from 1967-1975, and was deployed to Vietnam from 1968-1969. He was a past President of the Lake View Lions Club. He was a member Kemper Baptist Church and was the 10th Post Master of Lake View Post Office, serving from 1990-2008.

He is survived by his brother, Jerry Crowley of Mocksville NC; sister, Susie Penrod (Larry) of Goose Creek; granddaughter, Erin McManus (Tony) of Lamar SC; great grandson, Tyler Owen McManus; great granddaughter, Abby McManus of Lamar SC; and numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend to the Donnie and the family, Glenda Gaddy.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his step father, Jessie L. Crowley and Mitchell Keith Crowley; and sister, Linda Winningham of Moncks Corner SC.
