Darrell Ray Sealey

Mr. Darrell Ray Sealey, 69, of Florence SC, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence SC.

Born in Mullins, SC, he was the only child of the late James Rupert and Navada Edwards Sealey. Mr. Sealey served in the US Army and the NC National Guard. He also worked for the NC State Highway Patrol.

Mr. Sealey was a member of the Camden Hi-Steppers Square Dance Club and past Chairman of the SC Square and Round Dance Federation. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Lugoff, SC.

He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved square dancing and traveling with his square dance family to visit other clubs. He was known for wearing black cowboy hat and smoking his pipes.

Mr. Sealey is survived by his wife, Sylvia, of 25 years; a son, Darren Sealey (Laura) of Florence; a daughter, Deidre Tart (Joe); step-daughters, Brandy Watts (Bryan) of Alaska, and Holly Stevens of Loris; 11 grandchildren, Taylor Tarte, Hunter Tarte, Emerson Sealey, Finnlyn Sealey, Alyssa Watts, Avery Watts, Hunter Watts, Alyanna Watts, Emily Watts, Gracie Watts and Evelyn Watts; and his beloved maltese, Ollie.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 10 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lake View. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 with Reverend Craig Blankenship will be officiating and directed by Cooke Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Florence Humane Society.
