Albert "Huck" McLellan

Albert "Huck" McLellan, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and steadfast friend, peacefully passed away at home on September 14, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of his family. Born on March 21, 1941, in Orrum, North Carolina, Huck was the cherished son of Quinton Asher McLellan Sr. and Fannie Lee Walters McLellan. He was a man whose life was defined by service, love, and an unwavering commitment to those around him.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethesda United Methodist Church.

Huck was predeceased by his loving parents, his brothers Quinton Asher McLellan, Willie Robert McLellan, Duncan Preston McLellan, John Simpson McLellan, his sister Peggy McLellan Lewis, and his foster son Jon Eby. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Delia Jackson McLellan, who was his partner in all things and his greatest source of inspiration.

Together, Huck and Delia nurtured a family that became his pride and joy. He leaves behind his sons: Michael Wade McLellan and his wife Christy of Carrollton, GA; James Joseph (Joey) McLellan of the home; Justin Luke McLellan and his wife Joni of New London, NC; and his foster son, Thomas Eby of California. Huck's legacy continues through his 8 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, and one great-grandchild, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to his life.

Huck is also survived by his brother, Archie Kinnon McLellan of South Hill, VA, who shared many cherished memories with him over the years.

His dedication to service was evident early in his life through his military service in the US Army, where he proudly served his country. Huck's commitment to helping others extended into his professional life, where he devotedly supported children with physical and mental disabilities as part of the Public Schools of Robeson County until his retirement.

A man of deep faith, Huck was an active member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, where he found solace and community. His involvement with the Shriners and Masonic organizations underscored his lifelong dedication to service and brotherhood.

The McLellan family extends their heartfelt gratitude to McLeod Hospital and its doctors, as well as Hospice of Scotland County, for their compassionate care during Huck's final days. Special thanks are also extended to the ladies of Bethesda United Methodist Church for their unwavering support and kindness.

Huck McLellan's life was a testament to the power of love, service, and faith. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew him.
